Bilateral activity and cognition
Bilateral activity’s impact on cognition. #
I had an insight a few hours ago and I think you’ll like it…..
Find a task you do physically…. and find a way to actively pass your focus off between your hands, such that the activity being done switches hands without disruption..
In my case it was wrapping silicone tape around a pipe. While I was doing this, I noticed that whatever I was thinking about was enhanced by the increased bilateral communication. It only seemed to work while I was actively focusing on keeping left and right in sync.
The moment I stopped doing the activity with intention, the enhancement quickly dissipated.
It was FUCKING WEIRD to observe, but cool at the same time.
